TESTIMONIAL FOR ED WATTS, ENERGY CONSULTANT, SENGA
If you are in the market for a solar system, I recommend—without reservation—you give serious consideration to working with Ed Watts who is an Energy Consultant for Senga. My reasons for recommending Mr. Watts are stated below.
1. I am a retired lawyer litigator, a classic Type A, no nonsense, detailed oriented, analytical, plain straight shooter, with zero tolerance for deception, BS, wasting time, or disrespect. I am also an impatient Alpha male who makes complex decisions easily once I understand the facts and the situation. As such, I strongly prefer dealing with a direct, plain spoken, John Wayne, “honest pilgrim”, type person, especially anyone in sales who probably has an incentive to fib, to make a deal.
2. The day I first met Mr. Watts, I was so disgusted with myself for investing about 3 hours of my time listening to a sales pitch from a competitor, I was tired, disgusted, and behind in what I wanted to accomplish that day, that I seriously considered denying Mr. Watts an audience with me to discuss what he and his employer had to offer me, when he showed up within minutes after his competitor left. However, since I did not want to be rude to Mr. Watts, and since I wanted to develop “patience”, I allowed him into my home. We discussed what he had to offer for approximately 2.0 hours. I am glad I gave him my time and a chance to do business with me.
3. Within minutes, and throughout my discussion with him, first time, I quickly became impressed, favorably, plus, perhaps, a bit leery or skeptical of his integrity. This was because I had an existing solar panel system [9 panels], and he recommended an entirely new system that included removing and trashing those 9 panels, that originally cost me about $13,000. I was thinking of augmenting those 9 panels, not trashing them—prematurely.
4. I questioned Mr. Watts, over a few days, about the pros and cons of me prematurely wasting my $13,000 investment in my existing solar system, especially since one or two of his subsequent competitors made me recommendations which included me keeping the 9 panels I had.
5. Over time Mr. Watts, on the merits, convinced me that it was in my best interest to get an entirely new solar system, with a back up battery. He explained his reasons and the cost savings, compared to what are reasonably predicable PG&E annual price increases, which are obnoxious.
6. To his credit, Mr. Watts never made my bull fecal matter detector meaningfully move, which I appreciated, immensely. Infrequently, he caused that detector to twitch, but not move.
7. Significantly, Mr. Watts guided me through intricacies [technical, schedule, and monetary], ensuring I made an informed decision. His professionalism and commitment to customer service are commendable and rare. I credit him, with his knowledge, pro-customer service attitude, and attention to detail, which made the total process from consultation, decision, installation, and post installation, smooth.
8. Soon after the solar system was installed, I lost power, abruptly, multiple times, which surprised and perplexed me. It was determined that the wiring in my home, built approximately 1978, tripped circuit breakers when I changed my procedures in my kitchen. I did not know enough to know if I was justified in blaming my new solar system or not. Regardless, Mr. Watts was instrumental in getting his company to give me via $500, via a check, which is what a general licensed contractor friend told me he would charge to remedy the sub-par wiring in my kitchen. I was surprised and thankful that I got that $500. Mr. Watts told me, in a way that seemed credible, he—out of his own pocket—would reimburse me that $500 if his employer refused to do so.
9. About 23 solar panels were installed in one day, per the scheduled day, and a large amount of impressive, complex looking additional equipment was soon installed.
10. During the entire process Mr. Watts kept me well informed and was responsive when I called with questions.
11. My new solar system began to produce energy in July 2024 and PG&E released their grip on my system in September 2024.
12. Since September, until now [October 2024], I have twice lost energy in my house, when working on my computer. Both times, in about 20-30 seconds, my electrical power automatically resumed, when my new solar system kicked in, which is what Mr. Watts assured me would happen. Each time, at those moments, I was ecstatic that I had a solar system with a battery that stored excessive energy that my system produced. This is because, in my experience, PG&E, has a horrible reputation for failing to keep electricity flowing. I was disgusted with the anticipated 6-14 power outages that I could expect, especially in the winter months, plus 2-4 power outages that I could expect during the rest of the year, with PG&E often taking 2-6 hours and up to a few days to fix the problem!
13. I credit Mr. Watts with doing, apparently, everything reasonably humanly possible that he could do to make my switch to solar using his company, and its affiliated companies, a near 100% seamless, pleasant, smooth, worry-free, experience.
14. Furthermore, after the installation was completed, Mr. Watts has made himself responsive to my telephone calls, even early on a Sunday morning, when I had questions and needed his help—which surprised me and impressed me favorably, again.
15. To summarize, Mr. Watts has been informative, competent, attentive, professional, credible, approachable, and immensely helpful.
16. I appreciate Mr. Watts’, and Senga Energy’s, commitment to excellence and Mr. Watts’ sustained efforts in navigating challenges, etc.
17. As a side note, and as a bit of humor, I once asked Mr. Watts if “Watts” was his real last name and not a gimmick? He told me “Watts” is his real last name. How appropriate! —
